Opening doors to golf, confidence, and community for youth ages 6–18. Golf is more than a game—it is a pathway to confidence, connection, character, and opportunity.
Wider Fairways Golf Association (WFGA) helps young people learn, play, grow, and belong through access to golf instruction, mentorship, equipment support, and community opportunities. Whether a participant is picking up a club for the first time or already loves the game, WFGA is designed to remove barriers and make golf more welcoming, affordable, and inspiring.

WHO CAN JOIN?
WFGA youth membership is open to young people ages 6 to 18 who are interested in learning golf, improving their skills, or becoming part of a positive golf community. No prior experience is required. Priority may be given to youth who face financial, social, cultural, transportation, equipment, or other barriers to participating in the game.
Membership Criteria
-
Wider Fairways welcomes youth from underserved communities, as well as youth who may need financial support to participate in golf.
We welcome beginners who are picking up a club for the first time and youth who are already playing and looking for more support along the way. Our goal is to create a place where every young person feels encouraged, included, and connected—whether they want to learn the game, have fun, build confidence, or pursue new opportunities through golf.
The criteria below are meant to help Wider Fairways serve youth who can benefit most from the program’s support, encouragement, and sense of community, while keeping the application process welcoming and inclusive.
-
Youth applicants should generally be between the ages of 6 and 18, unless otherwise approved by the organization.
Applicants should have an interest in learning or continuing to play golf, regardless of prior experience or skill level.
Priority may be given to youth who face financial, social, cultural, transportation, equipment, or other barriers to golf participation.
Wider Fairways welcomes youth from communities historically excluded from golf and seeks to create an environment where every participant feels safe, respected, and supported.
Applicants must agree to participate in a positive, inclusive community by showing respect for peers, coaches, volunteers, and host facilities.
A parent or guardian must complete required consent, emergency contact, and participation forms for youth under 18.
If space is limited, selections may consider program fit, level of need, readiness to participate, and the goal of serving a diverse group of youth.
